Bariatric Center at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in

If
you're an accomplished Nurse Practitioner with a background in
psychiatry seeking to excel in a clinical and administrative role, we
can make that happen.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for a
BLS or ACLS-certified Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical staff in
the Bariatric Center at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in
Hartford, Connecticut in a rewarding dual role. As the
Bariatric
Program Nurse Practitioner and Administrative Coordinator, you will be
able to provide excellent clinical care and to manage the
administrative responsibilities key to maintaining the high-end care
provided to our bariatric patients.
In this role, you can
enjoy caring for patients as you provide pre-operative screenings,
medical weight loss management, post-operative care and consultation
and the ability to be able to conduct psychological
evaluations.
Additionally, you can feature your management skills as the
administrative coordinator overseeing the quality initiatives and
ongoing accreditation readiness of the Bariatric Center's
multidisciplinary approach to the management of Bariatric
Patients.
Here you can provide great care to patients while developing and
providing education and support and coordinating ongoing research
projects with the Physician Director and Department of Surgery.
The
successful candidate will have an M.S. degree in Nursing or
Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, current Connecticut RN and APRN
licenses and BLS or ACLS Certification. This candidate should
demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational and time management
skills as well as critical thinking and effective clinical
aptitudes.
The
Bariatric Center at Saint Francis is a designated Center of Excellence
by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the
Surgical Review Corporation. This department combines
excellent
surgical expertise in minimally invasive bariatric surgeries with a
strong aftercare program that includes dietary services, psychological
services and education to support the continued weight loss success of
our bariatric patients. As a result, the Bariatric Center
enjoys
better safety results than national averages and excellent outcomes for
our patients.

This
is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, team-oriented,
Adult/Acute Care APRN to join Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center
in Hartford, Connecticut to provide support for General Surgery and
Trauma patients. The APRN will support the University of
Connecticut
School of Medicine general surgery residents along with a talented
staff of Advanced Practice Professionals. As part of the team, you will
provide hospital support for surgical rounds, admissions, evaluations
of ED patients, and respond to Trauma resuscitations. This is
a
non-operative position which involves pre-operative workup, ordering
and interpreting diagnostic tests, and evaluation of post-operative
patients, under the supervision of five Board Certified Trauma Surgeons.
Preference will be given to APRNs with Adult/Acute Care Certification
and Medical/Surgical experience.
