Full Time
At

working towards the day when diseases are preventable, outcomes are
always positive, and the highest quality healthcare is available to all.
To
support us in our efforts, we are now seeking a Neonatal Nurse
Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary NICU team of 9 Neonatal
Nurse Practitioners and 7 Neonatologists. Our recently constructed
Level III unit, the largest level III NICU in New England north of
Boston, is equipped with the most advanced medical equipment designed
for infants and houses 28 private rooms, 3 transitional beds and 20 CCN
beds. The NICU is staffed on-site with a focused team with special
training in neonatal care and works closely with a dedicated transport
team that reaches out into the community to bring babies in need to
Maine Medical Center for care and rehabilitation. We have approximately
2,500 deliveries and over 180 ground transports every year and in 2011,
we will see approximately 1,000 patients.
In this role, you will
also work closely with families, nurses, physicians, other NNPs and
affiliated staff as well as community resources to develop
comprehensive and personalized treatment plans for chronic and episodic
illnesses. Additionally, you will be expected to take part in a
teaching component with Residents and Nurses in our Simulation Lab.
A
current ME RN license, MSN from an accredited nursing program and NNP
certification and at least 2-3 years of progressive nursing experience,
are all essential requirements for this position. Our ideal candidate
will also possess advanced critical thinking, analytical, leadership,

while effectively communicating with unit and administrative personnel,
