Director of Health Services for Colorado Christian University, Lakewood, CO The Director of University Health Services oversees the overall management of the Health Services Office and provides comprehensive health care and health education for university students. The position is a 9 ½ month position beginning August 1st and ending May 15th annually. The Health Services Office is closed during Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break periods. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations.
2. Discriminate between normal and abnormal health examination findings.
3. Diagnose medical conditions/injuries and provide appropriate treatment or referral to collaborative physician.
4. Maintain and monitor relationship with collaborative physician, including review of charts, prescriptions and laboratory tests; receive regular supervision from this physician.
5. Order appropriate laboratory tests and accurately interpret laboratory reports, or refer for physician interpretation.
6. Assure compliance with established requirements for immunizations, and respond to non-compliance in a timely and efficient manner.
7. Provide immunizations as needed.
8. Provide written summaries of contacts with clients in a timely and accurate manner and maintain confidentiality of student information.
9. Maintain medical equipment and inventory.
10. Administrate and maintain student health insurance program.
11. Be available to Residence Life staff members, Counseling Center staff members, Athletics staff members and others, to provide consultation and medical assistance for emergency situations.
12. Develop annual budget proposal for University Health Services and submit to Director of University Counseling Services for approval.
13. Be an active and fully participating member of the Student Life team and provide health services at various events such as retreats, chapel programs, registration and other special events.
14. Collaborate with other departments on campus to provide health education to students.
15. Coordinate semi-annual blood drives on campus.
16. Collaborate with Athletic staff members to provide continuity of care for student athletes.
17. Train staff members in C.P.R. and use of Automatic External Defibrillator (A.E.D.) and maintain C.P.R. and A.E.D. equipment.
18. Supervise student assistants. Requirements
1. Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
2. Licensed in Colorado as a Nurse Practitioner.
3. Licensed in Colorado to prescribe and monitor medications or willingness to obtain prescriptive privileges within one year.
4. Experience in primary care.
5. Preferred experience in psychiatric nursing and knowledge of psychoactive medication.
6. Preferred experience in Microsoft Office programs. Personal Qualifications
1. Ability to work independently.
2. Ability to work with and relate well to college students.
3. Ability to collaborate well with staff members in other departments, and physicians.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

1. Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
