Educates patients and their families regarding the disease process, diagnostic tests, therapeutic regimen, and methods of adapting medication and treatment regimens into the patient's lifestyles. Counsels patients on prevention of illness and overall health including; diet, exercise, sleep improvement and methods for stress management. Monitors patient's responses to therapeutic regimens and adjusts regimens with established protocols. Teaches lectures in Pearls for Your Heart Health Education Workshop once monthly. Works with the Director of Clinical Programs, to develop and implement NP-managed, outcomes-focused programs in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and advanced cardiovascular risk factor management. Maintains professional self-growth through attendance at professional programs, review of journals, etc. Maintains current licensure/certifications in a state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Maintains infection control measure, policy, and activities. Monitors the ICHP patient care related to performance improvement activities. Assists in preparation for JCAHO inspections. The nurse practitioner provides advanced practice nursing care for employees, spouses and dependents in an industrial setting to include complete physical with appropriate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care as established in written protocol.
