Qualifications:
Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease
process and procedures.
Knowledge
of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the
desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well
as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including
dosage calculations as required. Knowledge of the administrative
requirements for proper documentation of patients conditions including
disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in use of basic word
processing, data entry and automated medical records.
Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and make
appropriate clinical decisions.
Skill
in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment
such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units,
oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other unit specific equipment.
Possess a Master of Science in Nursing or Advance Certification
(Certificate of Authority)
Possess certification by ANCC or AANP.
License must correspond to DEA registration number.
The
nurse Practitioner shall have 24 months of experience within the last
36 months. Experience shall be in the same clinical specialty.

Possess
current certification by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board
(PNCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Possess
and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Current certification in either
the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) (Course C) or
the American Red Cross CPR/BLS Course. In addition Advance Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal
Resuscitation Course (NRC) certifications shall be required.

Extensive

instructor. Evaluates clinical practice and collaborates with health

staff development programs.
Ability to assess patients' needs
via critical thinking and diagnostic skills in clinical
decision-making, comprehensive health history, physical assessment,
health assessment tools, record reviews, and individual patient
encounters and interviews.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a diverse group of
individuals.
Knowledge
