As one of our clinic managers, you will assume duties that will be focused about 80% on patient care and 20% on business
management. The clinic manager is responsible for supervising FNPs within a clinic setting. Supervision includes orientation,
development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of quality services. The clinic manager also will act
as the main point of contact for the clinic, manages the clinic budget, staff scheduling, and ensures the marketing programs

As a RediClinic clinic manager, you will assess the general health status of ambulatory clients age two and older. You will
develop and implement a plan of care within RediClinic’s scope of service protocols, and will be a physician extender in the
daily operation of clinic-based primary care facilities in retail settings. In this setting you will provide health care, health

Primary Responsibilities:

various departments whose advanced knowledge and skills qualify her/him to function as a primary health care provider on
an inpatient or outpatient unit. The NP/PA serves as a member of our collaborative health care team. This collaborative role
includes responsibility for determining the patient's health and medical status by taking health histories, performing physical

Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants
Carilion Health System currently has openings for full-time and part-time Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants for
various departments whose advanced knowledge and skills qualify her/him to function as a primary health care provider on
an inpatient or outpatient unit. The NP/PA serves as a member of our collaborative health care team. This collaborative role
includes responsibility for determining the patient's health and medical status by taking health histories, performing physical
exams, and initiating appropriate care for our patients. Typical responsibilities include screening and diagnostic procedures;
providing health maintenance services; and management of trauma, elective total joint replacements, acute illnesses, and
stable chronic illness. Consults with physicians, as appropriate, keeping them informed of needs and problems related to
patient care.
The NP/PA uses effective verbal and written communication skills to document care and to consult with physicians, as
appropriate, regarding patient issues. He/she serves as a resource in the promotion of optimal patient care, including
participation in quality initiatives and staff/patient education. The NP also has sufficient computer skills, in order to utilize
patient information and other computer programs in practice.
The 24X7 Practitioner takes call and/or provides coverage on weekends as a physician extender. Graduate of an
Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program. Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience preferred.
Current state license in the appropriate discipline. Basic Life Support certification required. Advanced life Support
certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the
Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine. Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is
accepted by Carilion Health System's malpractice insurance carrier.
