Family Practice Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants COLORADO

Join our current certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) in providing excellent primary care to the underserved population of Boulder County, Adams County and the surrounding areas. We are looking for dedicated, certified Family Practice NP/PAs who enjoy practicing in a primarily Spanish-speaking underserved community.
Some details of the position include; four day in-clinic work week. Progressive, team-work based medical model. Collegial, consulting-focused environment. Providers are exposed to creative and resourceful ways to manage patient care. Three week new provider orientation including 10 EMR training sessions.
Mid-level call coverage consists of telephone duty only. Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants do not go into the hospital. Calls are first answered by the Denver Health NurseLine. If the RN cannot manage the patient's needs, he/she will forward the call to the Clinica mid-level on call. The NP/PA will triage the call and resolve the issue if possible. If the need is beyond the scope of a mid-level provider, the patient call is forwarded to the Clinica physician on call. Mid-level call responsibility is about three weeks a year, usually including one holiday. However, additional shifts are required if there is not adequate coverage.
Clinica offers generous vacation, paid holidays and CME. Compensation and benefits are competitive.
Qualifications and Skills: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioners program. One year of experience in ambulatory health care. Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority communities preferred. Basic computer literacy required. Valid license/DEA (DEA optional) in jurisdiction of clinic. Ability to flourish in a team management system. Bilingual Spanish or medical Spanish. Excellent leadership skills. Coaching approach.

Block scheduling! Work 7X7 or 6X6 or 5X5 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. It will be up to the two NPs hired how they block their time. You will work with an MD Hospitalist each night and admit patients to a very busy service. Fielding calls from the floor will also be part of the duties.
